Majority frustration, Growing resolve

There are two takes on the current spate of issues, more specifically, the manner of their presentation, that has me frustrated. What I see is the Democrat’s on the attack. Bolton, Iraq, Gitmo, etc... I do take solace in the thought that the D's are in the process of creating the GOP 06 add campaign though. But there comes a time when President Bush must summarize the leftist’s position as anti-American and anti-religion, with considerable measure being anti-Christianity. We need to force the left, to include interest groups like the ACLU, to defend their anti-American positions throughout the entire spectrum of policy.

Benefit of the doubt is given to those advocating positions on first impression. However we now see the results of statism, new deal consolidation and welfare nanny state. Conservatives have our history with the lefts policy wreckages through out our history the world to point to and persuade people good-faith, of the incoherence of setting policy based of intellectual fads. Fashion is for cloths not foundational principles. It makes as much sense to change into your "summer principles" as to teach children that “Heather has two Mommies".

The big picture must be set...That is where this site is going.

A Forward leaning Conservative Manifesto

The rationale underlying the collection of positions and arguments that together form the conservative approach to the political ethos is simply that the approach, dissection and solution to the problems that arise naturally from our common ontology, are based squarely on our human nature. The natural source of our dilemmas in turn frame two critical corollaries. First, solutions are not found in faddish rationalizations or beguiling bromides, but in the constitution of our nature. As such the answers conservatives propose to dilemmas in relevant policy areas are more likely to resolve, or at least squarely address, the problems faced. Second, our recognition of nature's bequest engenders humility in the face of eternal tensions, and perhaps most importantly, restraint in the estimation of our sway.

This is the principle of application that distinguishes true conservatism from all other intellectual orientations. At bottom it is a persuasion for adults not placard laden tattooed children.

Childs play

Michael Jackson has been acquitted and I must agree with the verdict. I'll not address the evidence lest to say that what was admitted into court was unconvincing in the extreme. Many say that we "know" that he did it. And there is some evidence underlying this conclusion. For instance, it has been reported that MJ kept child porn magazines. This indicator of prurient interest in children is very serious. Nevertheless, you must play the hand you are dealt, and frankly the witnesses that attested to MJ's activities where themselves admitted liars and cheats. You cannot distill veracity from their ulterior self-interest. Frankly, had I been a juror, once I learned that the accuser and his mother had previously been convicted of insurance fraud, and the child had admitted lying to others over the instant matter, I would have rejected the states case out of hand.

Even out of court I don't like convicting people based on rumors, I don't think it is a practice worthy of reasonable persons. But a level of caution is perfectly reasonable in this case. MJ is a very strange man. I would never trust his judgment on any issue as it is necessarily clouded with madness. But I have not seen enough evidence to determine if he is a pedophile.
